The Children of the King

...from the street to the Kingdom.

June 2007:   Erick just returned from OK where he stayed with the Kings for 10 days in June.  He had gallbladder surgery and gave birth to 3 kidneys stones.  A special thanks to Drs. Phil Moyer and David Buntley for taking care of Erick at no charge.  We are so fortunate to have caring Christian physicians in our area.  Dr. Buntley’s daughter, Tara Bruner is an alumni of past medical missions.  Duncan Regional Hospital gave us a large discount for services too. Erick is doing much better and a is skinnier too.   Kathye Malcom from OK flew to Jinotepe at a moments notice to help Eveling.  Thanks Kathye  You’re an angel!  She is back and had a great time!

As if 48 children weren’t enough, the Garcia’s are expecting one of their very own.  Eveling is due on April 23, 2008.  Pray for her and their new baby.

Jan 2008.  Under the direction of George Hall and administration of Erick Garcia, the Biblical Institute of Central America (BICA) in Nicaragua began operation on Jan 21st.  With both single and married students enrolled, the two year school will train preachers and teachers for the kingdom  of Christ in Nicaragua.   (more in Erick’s report above.)

July – December Report 2007

Dear friends;

May our Lord continue blessing you all, thanks so much for your love, compassion and efforts to support us, We and our children are very grateful. This year we were involved into many things, we had happiness and sadness, however God was supporting us and giving us strength.

Christian Activities:

I have been  preaching in many churches this semester.  God was calling me to preach at the prison, I was preaching there every two months. After my recovering from my surgery in June,  I was giving conferences and seminars in Managua (45 km from LNDR), Leon (135 km from LNDR) and Masaya (22kms from LNDR). Since September my leaders asked me to make disciples of five

Juan Carlos

Just one of many that Erick and Eveling have helped bring from the street into the house of Christ.

teenagers from the church that are studying in our preaching school.  I was training them for 3 months every Sunday for three hours. Eveling and I did evangelism one day weekly. We were visiting sick people at the hospital and in their homes teaching the gospel once every two weeks.

I was invited to preach in two Evangelistic Campaigns one in Diriamba, ( 1 mile from LNDR) in September and 1 at El Almendro, San Marcos (15 km from LNDR) in December, this is the same congregation that is attending David and Kim Romero (from Edmond/Oklahoma Christian).   Also I will be preaching at Evangelistic Campaigning in Fatima Leon, next Jan 6th 2008.

Children Home Activities:

We were blessed with the visit of our brethren from Seventh & Beech, Durant. Also thanks to the ladies from Durant (Seventh & Beech church of Christ) They gave us clothes for our children, our girls were so excited with their clothes. We saw God’s powers working in Jenifer, thanks to each donor who helped with her surgery, we are praying to God asking for Jenifer health. Our children missing her a lot, we love her so much. God helped us.  He has touched

hearts and wills to help Jenifer.  We want to give thanks to Chisholm Trail and Eastside Hispanic-Duncan, Hope Arkansas, Maude Tx,  7th & Beech-Durant, Northside-Waynoka and Marlow Churches of Christ.  There are so many other brothers and sisters helping with her care and medical bills.  God bless them all and we are praying for her recovery and return to be with us.

We want to give special thanks too, To Steve Whiteman and Lynn Stevens and kids who worked for a new see-saws.  Thanks to Kathye Malcom who was with Eveling and the children meanwhile I was recovering from my surgery. So, thanks to each one of you that makes possible that our children keeps smiling.

Finally we open the second house one year ago and it is almost full. In October Heyner (5yrs), Claribel (8yrs), Jazmine (10 yrs), Emily (8 yrs) and Fernanda (6yrs). Finally in November we received Marling (10yrs), Yensi (7yrs) and Darling (3 yrs). 22 children saved and with a new home.   Glory to God!.

Our children received gifts from the Samaritan Box thru Benny and Donna Baker, it was thanks to God and Dale & Gail Goad who made the contact. On December 24th we had a Christmas dinner, was very emotional because we were remembering Jenifer.

Preaching School Activities:

I was teaching at the 3rd and 4th trimester (The Gospel of John and Elemental Hermeneutic), Brother Cesar Hernandez was teaching Corintians I, Brother Jorge Guillen from Catarina church of Christ was teaching Homiletic II , Brother Jackson Sanchez from Diriamba Church of Christ was teaching Homiletic I. Brother Nestor Sanchez who is a minister at Masaya was teaching Corintians II and my collegue Brother Hezir Suazo, Humans Doctrines. We have a regular attendance of 16 students from 5 churches. Brother Dale and Gail Goad are supporting us wih school supplies and in many ways. Since last November’06 we are helping the students with the pamphlets, transportation and refreshment.  We are supporting the teachers with transportation thanks to the funds that Mission Committee, Chisholm Trail-Duncan approved to continue with this wonderful program.  Also a very special thanks to Bud and Janelle Amlin from Durant who are supporting us as well.  We love you all!

We had our third seminar thanks to God and thanks to Brother James Dixon, Mission committee from Chilsom Trail who supported us we had an attendance of 120 leaders from 26 churches of Nicaragua. We are encouraging preacher to unity and peace. Our next conference will be on January 5th at Masatepe we are expecting more than 180 leaders from Nicaragua and Central America.

I was preaching at the 5th Youth Regional Meeting, last August it was on Jinotepe Central, we had an attendance of 167 youth from 16 churches, then our 6th Youth Regional Meeting was on Masaya last October 6th, We have an attendance of +250 youth from 24 congregations ( El Almendro, Masatepe 1 & 2, Masaya, Jinotepe Centro, Santa Rosa, Diriamba, Santa Teresa, San Marcos, Ducuali, Bertha Diaz, Los Altos, San Judas, Rene Polanco, Catarina, Tipitapa K20, La Villa, Sacuanjoche (Organizer), Ciudadela, Cofradia, Villa Alemania, San Juan, Granada and El Rosario church of Christ). The topic was: “How improve our Christian Relationship”. I think that is very important that you know that the Regional Youth Meeting was a project of The children of the King to join the young people and to encourage them to work and participate actively in Jesus’ mission. The Christian young people in the South had many years without youth activities.

Another new work is that God picked me to be the director of Bible Institute of Central America, This Bible Institute is a initiative of Bro. George Hall.  He established a Bible Institute in Honduras ten years ago and another one in Guatemala four years ago.  Now we have one in Nicaragua.   We are going to start classes next Jan 21st.  We already have 13 single students and 5 married couples. We already have in the program 10 evangelistic campaigns for this year.  One of these will be on Ometepe Island in  July.  We are planning to have our medical campaign there too.  Our Saturday leadership school will continue.  On Saturday, we are preparing young workers that can't study daily.  We are giving the opportunity to these brothers and sisters to know more about God's word.  They will be the future leaders of the Lord’s Church.    Also we now have a bus for the children’s home, Bible Institute and summer missions.  Thanks to George Hall from Texas and God!

Foundation Activities:

We had a hard week on July preparing work papers for for the 2007 Medical Campaign.  Then we had a hard week working in six different places: Jinotepe Central, Santa Rosa, El Rosario, San Juan de Oriente, Granada, and Piedra Menuda.   Over 3600 were seen and over 14800 prescriptions given for free to those who came.  Dentistry and Dental hygiene services were very busy too.

We had meetings with Family Ministry. We were working with Government Ministry in our annual report, we were working with Foreign Cooperation Ministry updating all our projects (Children Home, Preaching School, Clinic and Mobile Medical Brigade). I have a meeting with the Sandinist National Council.  We requested them cooperation to approve our programs. A Sandinist and a Liberal congressmen came to us to give our children candies, toys and pinata party last week, people from Cancer Society made a party and invited Samuel (one of our kids who is a survivor of a Wilm’s tumor). Special mention to Jim Rich, he is a very nice and active brother who is doing wonderful activities for our children (Muppets shows, reading tales, etc) with the young people from Villa Alemania, Las Mercedes and Jose Dolores churches of Christ, our children really enjoy the activities.

Medical Activities:

Finally we had mobile medical brigade in Puerto Cabezas on the Atlantic Coast after Hurricane Felix, I went with many colleagues we attended 500 people in 8 hours. At the local clinic we attended brothers from Tipitapa Km 20, El Rosario, Santa Rosa, Masaya, Diriamba and people that the mayor of Jinotepe sent to us.   Zoila,  one of our board members, is the wife of our city’s mayor.  We attended visitors, workers and our children, 800 hundred people in this period.

We need your prayers, we need your support to continue doing the mission of God.

Eveling, my beautiful wife is pregnant.  We are so happy God gave us a wonderful gift.  Kid number 49. We are expecting our baby on April 23rd, please pray for her because she was bleeding last 2 weeks. Now she is resting in bed.
