The total cost is about $1100. This depends mostly on the airline fare. Taca Airlines from Dallas to Managua has always been the most affordable. Plane tickets this year will be $660. This includes airfare at $600 plus $60 charge for daily lunches on work days, mission T-shirt, bus transfer and fuel cost. A $50 deposit is due by April 15th to reserve your space and the remaining $610 is due by June 1st. While in Nicaragua, meals and lodging will be about $200. Most spend about $200 for shopping and recreation at the end of the trip. Those purchasing their own airfare will need to send Abby the $60 fee before we depart. Each person pays for their lodging and evening meals on their own. Total amount from above estimates is $1060.

What Does It Cost?
Checklist — What to Bring?
Our mission group usually consists of approx. 50 members from around 6 states. Newcomers and alumni travel from Dallas to Managua via TACA Airlines. On arrival, we take a 2 hr bus trip to Jinotepe, Nicaragua. Our home away from home. The site of our children’s home, Los Ninos del Rey serves as our starting and ending point for the journey. Our construction team works on projects at the home while our mission team takes to the road. We setup a medical clinic, dental clinic and pharmacy each day and see as many patients as we can. Starting around 9 AM and working until 5 PM. Then we head back to Jinotepe for supper and a quiet evening in the village. Evenings are spent at the Hotel Casa Mateo, a beautiful and comfortable ‘resort’. We will work at five different locations through the week. On Friday, we plan to work at the Island of Ometepe God willing. This volcano island has only generator power. A small village at the boat dock greets visitors by day. Banana boats cargo travelers across lake Nicaragua, the only lake in the world with fresh-water sharks. Hold on as the boats make their way across from Rivas to the island. We hope to help in establishing a new congregation on the island. Saturday thru Monday will be spend touring with small groups wherever our missionaries want to travel. Our goal, to show the compassion of Christ through a medical mission effort aimed at provoking interest in knowing more about our Great Physician and Healer. Come joins us for this spiritual adventure. And start praying now for a spiritual harvest of souls……………..Kent
